Why not use a lighter

The production of a flame with a lighter or matchbook cannot be inferred as magical. The surprise element is required to make the fire production magical.
Some artists can do a one-handed match light using a standard matchbook. Others can use a big or ronson metal with one hand by flicking the device without actually using the flintwheel.

Nichrome wire is sometimes used to heat the matchhead and produce the flame. This is generally powered by 1.5 to 3 volt battery mounted in a handheld brace.

Striker pull

The striker pull is any surface taken from pre-existant match books. This is then mounted in a bracket which allows the user to exert pressure against the striker head.
